The ASbuilders team started during the pandemic when some family members and friends saw an opportunity for new beginnings and maintaining their shared skills.

Through collaboration, dedication, and a shared commitment to excellence, the ASbuilders team embraced the challenges presented by the pandemic. Adapting to the evolving landscape, they successfully navigated uncertain times, establishing themselves as well-respected in the community. Their ability to emerge during the pandemic shows their resilience and ability to adjust. They had a shared vision and set out to positively impact the local home builder industry.

ASbuilders, headquartered in Rotorua, was founded with a clear objective: to prioritise the customer’s experience. The company meets customer needs through continuous communication and establishing trust-based relationships. By fostering transparency and open lines of communication, ASbuilders aims to provide customers with an outstanding experience throughout the home renovation and building process.

At the helm of ASbuilders is Slade Apo, an experienced builder and site manager who played a pivotal role in establishing and operating the company. Before starting ASbuilders, Slade gained valuable expertise working for one of Rotorua’s largest construction firms. He further enhanced his skills in Australia, expanding his capabilities to include scaffolding and obtaining scaffold tickets. Since returning to New Zealand in 2018, Slade has worked as a qualified builder and scaffolder, drawing knowledge from industry-leading companies. This exposure has allowed him to learn from some of the field’s most efficient and skilled tradespeople.
